Get back on your feet again with our Injury Rehabilitation services...

Sports Massage and Injury Rehabilitation Specialist

As a CHEK Practitioner and a clinical sports massage therapist I look to find the etiology of your pain, we do this by assessing the entire body and not just the structure but the nutrition, lifestyle and mental/emotional causes of pain as well.

This is seldom done by many therapists and as a result gives CHEK Practitioners a much higher success rate with rehab clients and compliments other therapies such as Sports massage, Chiropractic and Osteopathy.

CHEK Practitioners typically follow the model of…

  • Assessment
  • Programme Design (exercises, stretches nutrition & lifestyle modifications, sports massage)
  • Programme Coaching
  • Programme Progression
  • Re-Evaluation

As a CHEK Practitioner and Sports Massage therapist I can treat many causes of back, shoulder & neck pain.

FAQ’s

What is Sports Massage?

Sports Massage is a deep tissue massage, that is used to remove knots and trigger points as well as stretching out and relaxing the muscles, which gives you increased range of motion and reduce pain levels. it is a powerful combination when combined with corrective exercise and lifestyle changes.

Who is Sports Massage for?

Its a common mistake that sports massage is just for sports people, this couldn’t be any further from the truth, everyone and everyone can benefit from sports massage no matter what your age, gender or activity level, if you have aches and pains that don’t seem to go away or keep coming back then you could benefit from sports massage, and even if you don’t many people like to have a massage to prevent any injuries and to de-stress themselves! there are many psychological benefits to sports massage as well!

What is Muscle Activation?

Muscle Activation uses a system of reflexes throughout the body that wakes up muscles. The muscles can then function at their maximum potential in strength, power, endurance and flexibility. The applications range from improved sports performance to great gains in training but also release of tight structures throughout the body that cause pain and dysfunction.

The body is an electrical system just like any other, when overloaded it blows a fuse. When we correct the blown fuse, the circuit and therefore the body can fire to maximum potential. This is how we were designed to be.

An everyday example of how successful Muscle Activation can be:

In a trial at Constantia Virgin Active (using the club manager), one of the tests had him doing the leg press. He started at 140kg as his comfortable maximum, and after being activated he was able to press 220kg – all within a 5-minute period. Although this result seems extreme, these are the kinds of things that happen to people everyday using Muscle Activation.

Muscle Activation is a system designed to teach you to raise your levels of performance on the field, in the gym, at the office and in your home. Teaching you to understand the way your body functions and how you can easily tap into its unlimited resources
